Jellyfish
The Jellyfish, is an energy use display, created as part of a product family, to playfully show the amount of light being consumed in the room. Like a real jellyfish in the ocean, when there is little to no light, the jellyfish will bright up and become more active. As the room brightens, the movements will slow down.
Created in a team of four.
Materials: Arduino, light sensors and 2 motors
Role
My main role in this project was the construction of the jellyfish, which was created using a vinyl backed paper. The unique compression and expansion ability was chosen through numerous testing experiments. Secondary roles included the wiring and coding the mechanisms of it's movements to allow it to react to light mimicking a real jellyfish.
